There are a myriad ways to measure the progress and intersections of a scrap of content as it ricochets around the Internet.

We’ll open this guide with “Tracking Your Nonprofit News Organization’s Impact,” by Lauren Fuhrmann of the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism. Her thoroughgoing method of spreadsheet analysis will yield a rich and detailed trove of quantitative data for any news organization that implements it.
